The Fight Night for the Bill of Rights – Dec. 15, 2012 – Washington, D.C.
And the
First Annual, Live National Read-Along of the Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights – some of the most powerful and majestic words ever written by a free people – celebrates its 221st birthday on December 15, 2012, and, to help mark this great event, The National Education Project, Inc., a non-partisan, non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation, is sponsoring a spectacular night of amateur and professional boxing.
Evening Highlight: At 8:30 p.m. EST, December 15, 2012, between the amateur and pro fights, we will have the “First Annual, Live National Read-Along of the Bill of Rights,” broadcast over the Internet to the entire world!
Eight 5th and 6th graders will be in the ring in Washington, D.C., each reading one of the first eight Amendments of the Bill of Rights.
Wondering about the Ninth and Tenth Amendments? Our plan is that they will be read by astronauts now orbiting the Earth on the International Space Station.
Yes, that’s right, men from space reading the Bill of Rights to the entire world on December 15, 2012!
At the same time, every child in America will be invited to read the Bill of Rights along with our children in the ring in Washington, a magnificent patriotic event that has never happened before in the history of the United States!
We would be most grateful for a donation to help us in this great effort.
